INTO THE FOREST

ITF is a plant identification course tailored specifically for homeschooling families with children ranging in ages 9 to17! Venture INTO THE FOREST with us, to the intriguing world of mushrooms, spore-producing plants, forest edibles, wildcrafting, folk medicine, herbal first aid, and so much more. This is a hands-on 8-week program, from little seeds grows mighty trees. We are here to teach forest families the knowledge of both native and non-native plants of the PNW, to connect, learn together, foster curiosity for nature & all that it has to offer!   • Amethyst's Apothecary & Into the Forest is thrilled to offer our nature-centric program designed for homeschooling children aged 9 to 17. ITF is a unique opportunity to delve into the wonders of the woods, botany, fostering curiosity and sense of community. The program features plant identification sessions, creativity-enhancing workshops, and essential survival skills. Students will learn about forest foods, discover the delights of Spring edibles, and gain valuable knowledge on identifying native plants, non-native plants, fungi, poisonous plants and their look-alikes. We do a deep dive on Herbal First Aid and working with vulnerary plants for wound care too.
